When did we lose our horse sense?
In this fast-pace life we live today, we have become quick to judge before we pause to really understand the issues. Like the instant public furor over the roundup of wild horses near the Salt River. Social media exploded. Animal-rights activists came down fast and furious against it. Yet, in the days to follow we learned that the horses may be destroying river habitat and threatening native birds, fish and plants. Back in the wild west days when Arizona was built on the backs of horses and life was slower, we spent time thinking before speaking. Call it horse sense. How ironic.
