A good downtown story to tell all
The Super Bowl has been a powerful economic development tool for Phoenix. Mayor Greg Stanton rightly calls it a showcase for business leaders across the nation. The Arizona Commerce Authority is hosting dozens of outside executives touting the region. All good. But maybe they’re missing a chance in their own back yard. Too many local CEOs outside the downtown core don’t realize the strong story of progress made.
Their ongoing support and promotion of the central city as the economic heartbeat of the region will be needed long after the big game ends. It would be wise to wine and dine them, too.
