Yet another plan has emerged to clean up the eyesore smack dab in the middle of Phoenix’s central business district: Park Central Mall. You can hardly call it a mall, which it was many decades ago. It’s now basically a complicated mess. The potential is huge. It could be a boost to the vision city leaders have to turn Central Avenue into a technology corridor. The obstacles are just as big: multiple owners, expensive property and cleanup needs. The Pederson Group has ambitions to create a mixed-use urban center there. Pederson is proven. Hope they can make this one stick.
